I thought I had the year of production wrote down but can't find it I know I've had it for 10 years. Any help on the year would be great. IMG_20210419_191835_4.jpg IMG_20210419_191718_2.jpg

The letter "C" is for April. I'm going with 2003 based on the rifles features. I don't think they were offering SS in 1980. If the bolt can be opened with the safety in the "SAFE" position it is after 1983. That is the LSS Mountain rifle.

I found this.

Model 700 LSS Mountain Rifle

Introduced in 1999. Fitted with two-tone laminated stock, with black fore-end tip and cheekpiece. Stainless steel barrel and action. Offered in .260 Rem, 7-08, .270 Win and .30-06. Barrel length 22". Weight about 6.5 lbs. Made 1999–2010.

The data in the sources we used is different. In the link Loonwulf used "A" is 2006. The data in the link Garandimal used "A" is 2003. 2006 is a "D".

It is pretty safe to say somewhere between 1999 and 2010. This might be one of those where you have to call Remington to pin it down further.

There were 2+ years where Remington did not place a date stamp on their firearms.

  • Remington discontinued stamping barrels with a date code on 8/9/99, the date code was added again on 10/1/01.
