I have never heard of an elk shot dead with a 7mm Mag that said it would have been worse if he was shooting a 300 WM......

Wow...that was sexist....it could have been a she....they shoot pretty darn good sometimes too....

No doubt that the 7 Mag is plenty, but I committed to 300 WM and really want to use this barrel that’s laying around...one day...after the rifling is gone in this 7mm RM. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to order some 7mm RM ammo. Lol

Hey- I love the 300WM too- and I have unscrewed two 7mm mag barrels off of perfectly good shooting rifles to build other stuff....so I hear you!

....but the old 7mm mag is just a nice balance of flat shooting and power... especially if you got one tuned in like you do....

I don’t disagree with you. May end up diving down the 7 RM worm hole. Don’t guess it matters at this point. I think I’ve got 13 or 14 different centerfire rifle cartridges in the ammo room now. What’s one more?
