Alright, update. Rifle is on its way to South Dakota and the suggested gunsmith Long Rifles Incorporated. I did look closely at the face of the bolt. I think the guy just didn’t know what to call the bent part of the bolt. I guess the innermost “ring” in the 3 rings of steel hype. Here’s a pic (above), it wasn’t THAT bent when I gave it to the guy, but it doesn’t bother me. Can’t get any “uselesser.” I’m looking forward to replacing this gun with a Winchester. Maybe another savage. We’ll see.

Update: lri has done the work, and will now check chambering before (assuming that goes well) sending it back. I like that they update throughout the process.

After almost a week, I haven't heard anything else from them. I hope that doesn't mean something else was wrong when they checked to see if it would chamber. That is your latest update.
