Remington 700 ml

He has made a conversion (reference prior link) to completely eliminate all action blowback. Claims it works well and I don't see why it wouldn't. Messing with primed cases makes for at least as much extra work though - and even more expense.

Here's a link to the after market 209 conversion for the 700ML that used to be sold by Cabela's and is claimed to be superior to the factory set up. It's made by a Canadian company.

THR's frontiergander/MountainDevil54 posted an interesting thread and range report about "209 Accuracy VS #11 Accuracy" from his Traditions Evolution bolt action rifle complete with pictures:

That's what my 2 Traditions are Articap. A matching pair of .45 Evolutions. Standard bolt action, 209's and the partially fluted barrels. They're good rifles Articap. Accurate as all hell. I'vd only used one of them; the other one is still in the box. They really are. Both of mine are the regular black models. I'm not much into the camoflauge and thumb hole stock and all that gizmo stuff. I know this is not really the site for it but I want to tell you anyhow. That girl (my neighbor) who got that Traditions Vortek has sure been pulling down the meat and the smallest thing she got was her antelope. She told me she killed for me to and she has plenty so not to worry about it She said the only meat they will buy from the store is just their bacon which is mostly for seasoning and that if they had wild hogs around here they wouldn't even do that. She really like's that Shepherd scope. I knew she would. I'm probably not going to put a scope on the Remington. I'm just glad to own it. I'm proud of it. If I'vd got a long range heavy duty shot to make I'll just reach for the Traditions more than likely.
Thank ya'll for these links you are posting. I check them out. I can assure you they are not being wasted....

That's nice to hear about "The Rose" making meat with that Shepherd scope.
I figured that she would be bringing you some biscuits & gravy for a long time but fresh meat is even better.
And I agree with you that pride of ownership is mostly what it's all about. It doesn't even matter about how perfect a gun shoots sometimes. It's more about the satisfaction that you get just by shooting it, and sometimes just by holding on to it and appreciating the workmanship.
I wasn't sure what Traditions .45's you had. I've got a feeling that you don't want to dirty up that new Remington, at least not yet. I have some guns that haven't ever been fired either. It's like there's the "working" guns and the guns that are made just for lovin'! :D

Yeah, guess so. But I'd put my Traditions up against the Remington I reckon in the accuracy test. You know, I think the ported barrel might have something to do with it. Cut's down on the recoil with my 110 grains of Triple Seven 3fff. I really can't say or attempt to judge. Those 2 CVA's (.45's matching) (one of them has never been fired either) will reach on out there and it pack's a hell of a stinger...I am reading all these links and everything I can dig up on this Remington. Having a 700 series bring's back a lot of memories. (some of them I'd just soon not have!)
Yeah, that's a good girl, like a daughter to me. The other morning she had made some blueberry pancakes with sausage links and she brought me some of them. Hey Articap, we're talking about a few miles here and in the most stinking and filty weather you could imagine. (the storm that blew out of the Rockies and dumped all that snow. Wind screaming and whipping snow around like ten thousand demons straight up out of hell) She ran off of her compass heading. She came on her snowmobile all bundled up and carrying a little food storage case full of the pancakes and sausage links. Had that damn rifle with her to all loaded and ready to go! (it was in a rifle case) We sat and talked for a good hour or so and she sent me an e-mail just as soon as she got back home to let me know she was alright. She'd already sent one to her husband (good man) to let him know she'd made it over here alright. Before she left I bundled up to and went out and checked her snowmobile and the little 'Alaskan Special Freighter' sled she was pulling to make sure she had plenty of stuff to take care of herself in case she stalled out on the way back home. She was good to go. Carrying enough stuff for 3 or 4 people...
Well anyway I like the Remington .45 a lot even though I haven't even shot it yet. It's still in the corner loaded from where I went out several days ago....PS, forgot to add even though it's not important to the post. I made sure she understood how to plot a 'reverse azimuth' so she could follow the same path back home that she came in on....

After watching this thread for a week or so I wanted to see what was out there.
I found 1 on gunbroker man its nice for an inline but man they are pricey
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=143879856
That price is about double of any I have seen that sold. Most go for $225-$400 depending on condition. There are 2 new in the box 50 cals on another site for $345 each. There are several on that site that will sell for under $350, I think that guy is kidding himself thinking he'll get that much for it.

I found one. (.45). I say again, FORTY FIVE CALIBER! Sitting almost right under my nose the whole time. Brand new and still in the box. A rancher has 2 of them (had 2 of them!) and he said he would sell me one with an extra set of sights and an extra bolt. He said I can just pay it off as I can if that's what I needed to do. I assured him I will have it paid off by the 5th of Febuary next year and he said that would be fine. He even brought it over here for me. Blued steel, pretty as all get out and full size. The rifle and extra bolt and sights are laying right here on the bed. I have a good scope to mount on it. If I knew where my USB cable was for my camera I would post a picture of it. I'm going into town in about a week and I'll try to remember to buy one. OWWwwwaaahoooo!!....What was that Gomer Pyle used to say? Shezam! Thanky, thanky, thanky, Sgt. Articap!!....
I am interested in buying the other one if still available.

Camodip, just found your post sir. I'll ask him in a few days. (probably around the 6th of December) I have to go by and drop him off some money. He might sell it, might not. I think the pair had probably (just guessing here) been for he and his son to hunt with before they ended up with the .50..,I think his son is off into cross bows. He sure picked a hell of a weapon for these wide open high plains of Wyoming! Anyway, I'll find out for you sir....

Thanks, I have been looking for one in 45 for some time now. Either stainless or blue.
I am also looking for a spare bolt if you know of any.
Let me know what you find out and thanks again.
Lonnie
