Due to the closure of my closest trap and skeet field, I've been shooting handgun and .22 rifles at an indoor range. I'd like to move up to a centerfire to make a trip to the outdoor range worthwhile; shoot a group at 200 yds, shoot some .22, repeat. I don't hunt, just target and the occasional varmint. Probably get a 22-250, lots of factory ammo, easy to reload. I really like the looks and feel of the new 700 SPS Varmint. Its available at my local store for $550 with a Remington labeled 4-12x40 scope. Anybody got one, tried one, have any comments? Any idea who makes the scope?
