Ok, both are high quality guns and by no means do not want to start a bashing tread, but what do you guys / gals feel about both these actions. I've read before that some feel the savage action is as good if not better then the remington 700 action and some feel more accurate as well.

Is this true? What have you guys experienced?

One thing I like about the savage is the 60 degree bolt.

They are both very good guns. Since this is your gun, you need to pick the one that fits you the best. Handle the rifles and mount them a few times and see if one doesn't fit or feel better to you. The only real difference in the rifles is that the Savage comes with the Accu-Trigger, which is a great trigger. The Rem might need a trigger job. You can't go wrong with either rifle.

Accuracy and durability wise, six of one and a half-dozen of the other. Fit and finish, however, goes to the 700 hands-down. Much classier rifle. I have 4 M700's and I love 'em all.

Can someone explain what makes a good trigger versus a not so good trigger. Is it only feel (i.e. if you need to put too much pressure you tend to move; thus, less accurate?)
