The recoil pad on my 7615P is begining to 'rot'.:confused: Its getting 'sticky'. I have tried to get a replacement pad from remington, but no one there can figure out which pad it is. So far they have sent me 2(at no charge), neither one of them fits. I'm supposed to have another one coming, but I have my doubts that it will fit. Has anyone here ever had this issue with their 7615? There are a few fellow 7615 owners here, and I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I found this ATI stock for a 7615;

but I don't like the drop angle on the stock.

Thank you.

Don't know if I can help on the recoil pad, but I'll agree that's an ugly stock. Will a standard 7600 stock fit? I bought a replacement laminate stock for my 7600 from Numrich Arms for something like $40 a few years ago.

Thanks for the link, John. They list a recoil pad for the 7615. I'll call them next week.

Is that a factory stock? Never seen one like that on a factory 7615. You don't really need any recoil reduction, just something to cover the butt of the rifle. It would be easy to make a flip flop pad.

If you've never seen it done, just buy a cheap $2 flip flop from Walmart, cut it a hair oversize and epoxy it on the butt of the rifle. Tape around the stock and file or sand it to fit. They work great.

I have the short stock on mine for shooting with body armor. Not the one that looks like a AR stock but same length as youth stock.

do you handload for it? Mine loves 69 gr Sierras.

I caused a sticky recoil pad from gun slick copper solvent. Probably a design flaw in rubber formulation.

FWIW, The 7615 is built on the 870 20ga frame

Thanks, but I knew that. :D

That stock is from ATI, and the pic is from their site. There were 5 variants of the 7615 from the factory. 2 of them had a stock like the ATI one;

Those stocks that came from the factory look just like the ones that Numrich offers;

I don't want to do the tape on butt pad thing. I want it to look good, like it did from the factory. ;)

No reloading, but when I shoot it for accuracy it likes Black Hills Match 68gr BTHPs. :D

Thanks, guys. I'll post what I find out next week. :D

Mine had the same sticky butt problem. I put some tape over it but it always came off sooner or later. Left a nice sticky stain on the carpet! Mine was issued so I couldn't amend the pad but I'd think any 7600 series stock would work.

I think I found a replacement! :D

First off, I got the 3rd pad from remington, and of course it didn't fit. :rolleyes: Not only has their quality taken a turn for the worst since the buyout, so has their CS. During my last phone call, I was told that it was a Speed Feed stock, and I needed to call them if I wanted a new pad. :fire: Safariland(who makes speedfeed stocks) told me they don't sell pads, only complete stock combos. :fire:

So I started searching. I remembered someone from rem saying Simms Pad. I found this on the Limbsaver site;

I downloaded the template, and all of the measurements match. :D I ordered it from Brownells yesterday(for $10 less), will have it in a few days. I will post when I recieve it. :D

OK nipprdog, I have the same problem. I too want my rifle to look original. Please send me a picture and the link where I can purchase this item. My original has 4 or 5 grooves around the side of the pad. Does the replacement?
