Where the Army puts me
Well I got a new rifle. I love 788's maybe a little too much. I've never owned a 6mm but always been interested in them. My gun have been professionally cut down some probably for a smaller shooter before me, barrel is around 18" and crowned well, the stock has a few inches taken out also. Neither of which bothers me at all. I'm pretty excited about this gun and thought I'd share it!

I'll get you a range report once I get some Hornady in.

Thats a sweet rifle! You either really like the 788 or you haven't hunted with one yet.

Years ago our local Coast to Coast had one that languished on the gun rack for four or five years and I always regreted not buying it. Now seeing what some are willing to part with for a minty one I really regret it!

^^^^^^ Great advice! A Remington 788 in 6mm Remington was my first high powered rifle purchase in 1973. You will not regret your purchase.... I used mine to shoot the heads off of snapping turtles in our farm ponds the next two summers. Our farm was in southern Iowa so I could set on the top of a hill in the pasture about 150 yards above the water and shoot so any ricochets would only be able to impact the hill on the other side of the pond. I never once noticed a problem with ricochets.... The turtles noticed a lot of missing heads though.

Thanks y'all, I have been on the hunt for some mags with little luck. I from some aftermarket one's that didn't have the best reviews. I guess I'm gonna have to hit the gun shows. Working on a MGW 20 MOA mount also.
