Well if the error is repeatable with different rings and different scope, what bases are on there? Could it be warped or out of spec? I still bore sight using my neighbor’s chimney with rifle in a vise. Pull the bolt, align with the chimney cap, and dial the scope. Usually within a few clicks.
Well, I'm back from today's range session. With the Swaro Z5 on the Anschutz there was NO windage adjustment at all today. Definitely a defective scope. Contacted Eurooptic CS and was informed I have to go through Swarovski Optik CS. They are closed for the T-Day holiday until Monday, of course. I left a voice message on their telephone and sent an email through their website. A high profile, high quality optics company with the reputation of Swarovski will make everything better, I am sure. At least now I know what the real problem is!think those swaros only have like 25moa of horizontal....that should still be enough to zero tho....being 12moa plus off wouldnt make me feel good about the set up.
Sometimes you get lemon scopes right from the get go also (ive had that happen way more than ive had them break after use), and even good scope manufacturers have failures. one way to check scope issues is to set the scope for center, then spin it 90 degrees and see if they poi changes accordingly.
