i have an 870 wingmaster pump and i see they make a 20 inch non-rifled slug barrel with sights AND its threaded for remchokes. im thinking this barrel can do turkey,hd,deer, and small game. really a do-it-all setup. btw, im not a trap shooter . do you guys think this would be a good setup ? i can sell my fixed modified choke and non-rifled slug barrels and it would be a wash as far as money goes. what do you guys think ?
THANKS AHEAD

Go for it!! You can easily change it back if you don't like it, I've got 3 different length barrels for my 870, depending on what I'm hunting or wanting it for at the time.

I picked up a 20-21" (I forget) vent-rib barrel w/ remchoke. Its about ideal for me.
+ Short enough for HD duty
+ long enough to cover a +4 mag tube extension
+ simple intuative bead/vent rib sights (I have no trouble hitting targets at range with a slug w/ a bead sight)
+ and remchoke for flexibility.

If you like the rifle sights over the bead sight, then by all means go for that one. Sounds like a winner to me.

chrome austex : that sounds like a older turkey barrel there. i was looking at turkey barrels ,but they are too much $$$$. im thinking goin this route i have accurate sights and choke capability to boot. win - win it seems . gonna pull the trigger today on one ......no pun intended

i ended up ordering the barrel, 200 shipped. maybe my do-it-all barrel ? gonna sight in for slugs and then pattern it with a rurkey choke next. we shall see...........

You can not go wrong. The 870 is the AR lego platform of the shotgun world. Have fun!
