Remington 870 Express HD

From what I've seen, it seems that Remington has changed/updated the familiar 870 Express HD that is commonly seen in sporting goods stores, gun stores, etc. The mag tube used to be even with the end of the barrel and now the barrel extends beyond the end of the tube. Is this still a 6+1 configuration?

Yes, 6+1. The advantage is that there is no issue with improper install of the 2 shot extention that so many people had problems installing correctly. The main disadvantage is that the only barrel made for that model comes on the weapon so you loose the versitility of the 870 as a multi purpouse gun. This is not an issue if you want a dedicated HD with a bead sight cyl bore choked barrel.
