Remington 870 reliability

30 years? That is how old my 870 is this year. Other than some wear marks (and I have even more of those), it is smoother than ever with all original parts (and I already have some replacements). It will outlast my grandchildren if given reasonable care.

my 870 doesn't get shot enough. I t will probably out last me and my nest generation. As far as reliability...It sits next to the bed and is the primary SD weapon along with a revolver & Semi Auto.

I trust mine with my family's safety

My 870 Tactical is my home defense/bug-in weapon. That should suffice.

Whelp.
Money Gun is a 870 28 ga with over 300.000 shells through it, and still runs.

In late April of 2006 a NIB 870 20 gauge Express was bought.
May 1,2007 we figured it needed a good cleaning, taken down and all since for a year it has only received minimal care and been fed only 30,000 rounds.

This one busted clays, felled doves, quail, ducks, geese, deer, small game, did serious duty for homes, business and travel.
It even stayed in a Holiday Inn, Howard Johnson's , Marriot and the Anatole in Dallas. :D

I had problems with my newer manufactured 870 ejecting the contents of the tube when I chambered a round. Sent it back and they fixed it, but I never trusted it.

I am with you on this. Mine has been to remington 3 times and is still not fixed. I bought a Mossberg 500 to replace it. I can't trust a gun that won't eject shells.:cuss:
