Those were not well received and few bought them. Remington uses a date code stamped on the barrel. That will tell you when the barrel was made. If the barrel has been changed then the date may be inaccurate.
There should be 2 letters stamped on the barrel near the receiver. The 1st letter is the month it was made. 2nd letter is the year. Many of the letters repeat, but it shouldn't be hard to tell the difference between a gun made in 1935, 1968, and 2004 even if they use the same letter. Use the chart below to determine the date of manufacture.
