Got an older Marlin 336 off of gunbroker.com. Looking to use either Remington Corelokt or 150 or Winchester power point 150. Any suggestions as to which one is better for the Marlin 336?

Both are very good for taking a deer.

Shoot a couple boxes of each, see which one your rifle shoots better.

yep, either will do the job, but some rifles prefer one over the other. As far as terminal ballistics, they're basically interchangable

Both are pretty much the same, plenty effective on a deer. I'd try both and see what your rifle likes the best, or just try one and if it's good enough, keep using it. Personally, I always liked Federal ammo in a .30-30, but that's just me.

The Winchester is more likely to have core/jacket separation.
Typically not a problem with .30/30.
For plinking, I used to buy both in bulk to reload, now, neither are generally available, though I have seen some Corlokts recently. Both used to be least expensive component bullets, now they are more expensive than most, hence not attractive as they once were.

Many report the 170's being superior. I really like the 170gr Corlokt at 2,300fps handload w/RL15 or now LVR. Got real good expansion/ performance on a doe I shot at ~170yds several years ago.

Edited to add; suggest you head over to www.marlinowners.com. Best Marlin info!

Both worked fine in my sixties vintage 336T, but I too preferred the Federal versions. Seemed a bit more accurate but that was long ago. Try all three and see which works best in your gun. Hard to beat a 336.
