Is anyone else having issue with Remington not locating their submitted Golden Saber rebate on the Remington Rebate Access page?

I emailed (after the appropriate wait period) and was told it was not on file and I should wait several WEEKS. I replied with photos of the receipt and UPCs.

Anyone else?

Well, your comments convinced me to dispute the purchase with my credit card company. The seller doesn't provide the rebate, but did/does advertise the rebate. Remington is being completely shady about answering me. I provided them everything again, electronically, and still told to wait.

You will lose that dispute. If you do this you are taking money out of the pocket of that retailer when they have nothing to do with your rebate. Don't do it. Its not the right course of action. It is harming the wrong party.

So do people recover from Remington? Remington will not accept my photos of the rebate submission.

I don't know. If they are doing this across the board threaten a class action. I would push harder with customer service. Get a supervisor.

I called today. Online it shows the submission was not received yet. When I called I learned it actually had been received but the department that scans it in for imaging and placed on the web is back logged. Another couple weeks is what I was told.

A guess: nothing will be more effective than credit card companies refunding customers and online retailers either collecting from Remington or they stop selling Remington ammunition.

I have no regrets for disputing this charge.

UPDATE: Still a scam.

Also, my Barnes Bullet rebates (Barnes is owned by Freedom which owns Remington) are also not in yet. Same ship date.

Screw this Remington. I hope my credit card charge dispute comes back favorable and it sends clear message to the retailer: drop this company's products.

So what are you going to do with the ammunition if the credit charge dispute come back in your favor?

Since your money will be refunded (credited) back to you are you going to return the ammunition back to the retailer?

Or are you going to keep and shoot the ammunition along with pocketing the rebate if it shows up from Remington at a later date?

Where does your honestly and ethics lay?

Clearly this person does not understand the economic or the ethics behind his actions. I am 100% sure he is not going to return the ammo. I am also 100% sure he is not going to win his credit card dispute.

wild cat mccane is clearly impatient. I would imagine that Remington got a ton of rebate requests with this promotion. Rebate states Allow 8–10 weeks
for processing. I wonder if he bothered to read it before he got so upset.

It is not only Remington he is impatient with. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=10073551#post10073551

CC dispute is a bit of an overreaction, IMO, but I hope you find whatever satisfaction you're seeking. To me, a rebate is the equivalent of "found money," and while I'd give it more effort than a couple emails and elevate it above the basic CS level, a charge back seems a bit far.

Like others, I'm curious what your plans are now for returning the ammo as you unwind this transaction. Most retailers won't take it back, but to keep the bullets and the money doesn't sound reasonable.

You're right for being upset; it sounds like Remington moved the 870 QC guys over to the rebate department. But being justifiably angry doesn't entitle one to more than what they're owed.
