I purchased a Remington Model 11. It came in a softcase with 3 barrels. Its a humpback design, browning a5 design, I called Remington and found out this was the first semi-auto shot gun ever made, even before browning. The gun, barrels and case are in excellent shape. Anyone have any ideas on it's value?

The first Belgian Browning A5, serial #1, was made and shipped to the U.S.A. Sept 17, 1903.

The first Remington Model 11 was made in 1905.

The Brownings were made first. See above posts.

Value? Who knows without a LOT more information. Condition is the #1 factor, then model/variation, originality and configuration.

A ballpark # may be anywhere fron $150-400, depending a lot on the above, and maybe $100 + per extra barrel, depending on what they are.

Pictures, pictures, pictures would help... along with all three bbls and as much of the writing as you can capture... We just can't help you otherwise on the value. And as a lifelong regret, I once passed up a like new D Tournament grade for $159.99 and by the time I pulled my head out and got back to the shop, it was gone...(same day)

John Browning was shooting an FN made Auto 5 shotgun in the states well before he came to an agreement with Remington to produce the gun here.

The Remington guns don't hold the same allure the Belgian made guns have and the values are about half what a comparable Belgian made early Auto 5 will realize.

Same safety and function checks apply to the Belgian guns as do the Remingtons and both, in good shape, make solid and reliable shooters.

As a side note, DO NOT shoot steel shot loads through these older fixed choke guns!
The barrel steel was not designed for steel shot and the chokes are too tight to allow the steel shot load to properly compress.

Scoring of the interior barrel walls, split or flower petaled muzzles and split barrel walls can and do occur, so avoid steel shot loads please.
