I have gotten a Remington shotgun kick and ran into a Remington Model 10 with a serial number that dates it back to 1926. I am not having much luck trying to find information on this model Remington.......HELP.

The overall condition is, well, worn. The barrel and receiver finish is mostly patina in color. I did not find any evidence of rust or abuse. The receiver has a pretty deep gouge (cosmetic) about 1.5"-2" long. The major concern is the stock which was cut off at some point in the shotguns history. About 2" are missing and replaced with a piece of pine and recoil pad. The bore looks good. It has a 29" full choke barrel. Broke it down a couple times....very unique takedown method.

Asking price is $129.99. What is everyone's opinion???

Thanks.

The 10 is kinda outmoded, but I know some happy owners thereof. The "flapper" gets out of time, reregulating is possible.

Like all old shotguns, a good smith should go over this before the first shot.

I wouldn't want to put a few thousand rounds through this, but an occasional day at the range and some hunting shouldn't strain things.
