I've been a long time Remington person, but just took delivery of a CDL Limited, stainless/flutted with a wood stock. Essentially what I guess your looking at.
Can't say I'm to impressed with what Remingtons putting out for a product these days. Lower floor plate feels like plastic, fit/finish on several various aspects of the rifle isn't all that impressive.
Wish I would have looked closer at these before I ordered one. I'm sure I could get pretty close what I have in it now, but I'll put it away and hopefully take it out in a few years to make a profit.
Anyways, the flutting isn't going to increase recoil at all. Maybe just a tiny bit with the few ounces it shaves off, but not enough to make a difference. Adds to the looks, little better heat dissapation, and also adds maybe a little ridigity to the barrels strengh..
