A yellow lead away cloth can remove bluing! and for the person that had dog vomit remove bluing, we got to hear that story!

"This characterization has nothing to do with solution concentration."

It does indirectly since a 100% acid at a high dilution will have the same ion concentration as a weaker acid at a higher concentration.

If the acetic dissociates to 50% it will have the same ion level as about 3% concentration muriatic.

I do not have the chem manual available here to find the actual rate for ascetic.

OK, I took the gun (same gun I mentioned in the earlier posts) to the gunstore smith and he told me he would clean it up. One thing concerned me is that he talked about using a wire wheel brush on it....
I am inclined to think this is safe as he is paid to work on guns, as well as I assume the wires will be very soft.
But anyway, should I be concerned about this????

Go with what your gut is telling you. Anyone can accept money to work on guns. Doesn't necessarily mean they're good at it...

True at the same time. What do you want to do. You have been told how to remove the bluing from your gun by just about everyone who knows how to remove the bluing. Now you take it to a gunsmith to hear that he may use a wire wheel. You sound a little paranoid about a gun. Its not a rolls royce. Its a gun. If its not stainless steel then what. Have you checked it to see if its stainless steel. So once you de blue a regular gun then what. Some where down the line you need to make a decision on what your going to do. You can do it yourself if your going to de blue it. Or you can pay to have it done. Then if you find out that its steel Then you can either leave it and just polish it. or re blue. When that time comes you can either do it yourself or pay to have it done.

If you take your car to get a new paint job. Your overall concern should be how it looks when its done. Not what kind of sander or process that was used on obtaining the finish.
