Can you take the scope off a Ruger SRH and re-attach it while retaining the same zero, provided that it is mounted in the factory rings?

I'd like to be able to switch back and forth from my scope to the after-market express sights I have on it depending on what I'm hunting and where. I don't see why this wouldn't work, but would like to hear from somebody that has done it with good results.

I had a super redhawk in .44 mag 7 1/2 barrel. I switched back and forth from a red dot to a 4X scope often, Go find yourself a B-SQUARE rail. The rail will replace your sights and go down the length of your weapon along the top. Have it installed by a gunsmith and it will be a steady platform for changing scopes/sights.

It worked well for me and improved the looks of the gun as well

will give u an idea.

The rail allows you to keep your rings locked to your scopes/sights and your rail locke dto your weapon. The only movement will be how tight or loose you attach the ring bases to the rail. and you can get consistant at that...this all helps making interchangablity very simle and fast without having to reset sights and scopes...

I could never determine a zero shift with mine. I had a RH .44 mag 7.5" with a 2X Leupold mounted with the Ruger rings.

With respect to zeros from a removed and re-installed scope- renmember that "Assumption is the mother of al f**k-ups"

LOL

This reminds me of the time I spent 3 days zeroing in my .270...only to get up in my treestand on the first day of gun season and drop it 20 feet.

I assume that I didnt kill a damn thing that year...
