I need to get the muzzle on my rifle threaded. I have a gunsmith that is willing to do it. It costs extra to ship the entire gun to him (which is on the other side of the country) and have him disassembly the rifle and thread the barrel. Ideally, I would just like to ship the barrel alone to have the work done and then reinstall it on my rifle myself once I receive it back from the gunsmith.

I was wondering if I can remove the barrel from my rifle myself (with the appropriate tools)? I've never done anything like this before, so please do laugh, but I like to learn new things that might come in handy in the future.

How would I safely remove and reinstall the barrel from my Armalite AR30M bolt-action rifle? I can't seem to get a response from Armalite when I curiously ask them how to do this procedure.

Here is what the rifle looks like (pictures attached - hopefully).

Any insight you can offer is appreciated (good or bad). Has anyone worked with one of these before?

I have an AR-30 in .330 Win mag. The barrels are already threaded with a cap installed. I don't remember the thread but you can get that from Armalite. Have your local smith ream and thread the break to match and you're good to go.
