Read rc's post #23.
I ordered a Lewis Lead Remover several years ago (when I started handloading lead for my .45LC), but while waiting for it to be delivered, I read about the Chore-Boy strands wrapped around a bore brush.
I tried that, and when the Lewis Lead Remover arrived, it sat in its box. It is still sitting in its box, unused, five (or more) years later. If I ever need it, I know where it is.
I also tried the peroxide/vinegar mix (once, long ago) but found that the potential negatives outweighed the positives (by far).
FWIW, I use Ed's Red as a CLP. Works just fine. I shoot nothing but my lead handloads through my handguns. No problems with cleaning.
