What is the reputation of Joeken Firearms? I have heard mixed reviews about them. Some are saying stay away, but their web site looks pretty good.

If anyone has bought from them before I'd like to hear about it- the good, the bad, the ugly, etc.

I noticed they have "Polytech Type 56 Clones", which I've been told are Romanian AKs made to look like the old Chinese ones, but still it caught my eye.

* Chime in if you had any experiences with Joeken, or anything you've heard. :scrutiny:

I have not bought from them.

They do, however, have a generally bad reputation. The most common thing I recall is charging your CC immediately, and not shipping the item for months. Some problems with some of their guns, also.

Caveat Emptor.

They have a very bad rep.

A little research on any gun forum that's been here a few years may save you some heartache.

They have an extremely bad reputation.
The Arizona Better Business Bureau has a number of complaints filed with them, and Joeken has failed to respond to the BBB inquires.

The Arizona State Attorney General office apparently has done some "business" concerning them, as apparently have Postal and several other different Federal authorities.

Joeken apparently WAS a good rep company, then started failing to deliver rifles, refused to refund money, sold rusty, defective parts, etc.
They claimed it was a "bad employee", but the conduct continued well after he left.
They have a SMELLY rep on the Guns Net where they used to be a site advertiser until they got cut off:

With that said, last Fall I ordered a couple of AK magazine pouches from them.
I attempted to contact them through standard email, the company site email, and the site customer service system.
They never responded.
I was actually in the process of having my card company recover the money, when the items showed up.
They were as advertised, and in new condition.

So, for small items, you might take a chance, but be prepared to wait for about 30 days for delivery and forget communication with them.
For a rifle.......DON'T.

With a name like that /Joeken Firearms/ (Joking Firearms?:barf:)
and from what has been posted here I would be VERY wary of dealing with them. But I have no first hand experience with them.

Joeken is one of the worst AK sellers at there. The name is from the two owners Joe and Ken. Avoid them like the plague. There are too many good, honest companies out there so no need to deal with Joeken. Any configuration on a AK you wan that a reputable seller can easily be remedied.

FYI: If I am not mistaken in remembering the threads I've read, Arms of America, LLC is another company that was started by the Joe part of JoeKen.

That is likely some more good info to know.

lets see Joe and Ken have setup shop in 3 different states, always leaving after large numbers of complaints are filed etc... the latest Arizona.......

I asked Joe at a gunshow awhile back why he didn't advertise via forums... he said they were populated by scum that had no other use for their lives than to spread BS......

I run into him alot as he is at most shows, at a SAR show 3 years ago he had an irate customer at onea his tables... the AK he had purchased would not lock in either of the mags it came with, I asked to see it, spotted real fast that the selector stop had not been filed back for the new receiver, used the file on my gerber a few swipes and it was fine... customer happy etc.. for some reason Joe got the idea I like him because I fixed the guys AK........ hell I just hate to see a new AK owner start out bad from the gate... the rivet work was cr@p but safe so I didn't say anything.... Joe was givin the guy a line of BS bout warranty repairs and as it was purchased mail order the guy would have to call for a RMA and sent it back etc etc....... that they could not swap it out at the show or take it in .... no law against it Joe just hoped the guy would give up and fix it himself
