Rep Good of VA introduces bill to effectively neuter the pistol brace rule

The bill is quite short, it simply and clearly modifies the definitions of "rifle" and "pistol" in the Internal Revenue Code so that ATF can't suddently decide one type of firearm is the other.

IMO this is a much more practical solution than grandstanding about abolishing the ATF.

With the new configuration of the House, the bill has a much better chance of getting to the floor and getting passed.

10 out of 18 members are anti-gun . . . .

All spending originates on the floor of the House.

Until House members use the power of the purse, I do not consider whatever actions tried to be serious.
There is no chance this HB will pass into law.

What would be effective, is to zero out the budget of (enter name of offending bureaucracy here) until the unwanted behavior is stopped.

Once inserted in a larger budget, it would be very difficult to stop that budget.
