Does anyone know where/who might sell a replacement barrel for an 870 wingmaster?
Been looking for awhile but seems to be a unicorn when I ask about a 16 gauge barrel.
Been looking for one with choke tubes. But other than buying an Express version ( found one) of the 870 in 16 gauge there don't seem to much inventory available.

If you already have a fixed choke barrel, it may be easier to have it threaded for removable tubes. 16 ga 870’s are, as you know, pretty darn rare.

Stay safe.

Corson's barrels specializes in new and used shotgun barrels. Doesn't look like they have any now, but I would check them from time to time.

I picked up a 12g 870 barrel a while ago from Optics Planet. It was made by Mossburg. Havent tried it yet, though.

I suppose that's a cheaper and more sensible solution. But there's something about the familiarity of a gun ( and everything else according to my wife) developed over time that makes me reluctant to change.

Oh, I understand completely! I simply meant that rather than purchase a replacement barrel, before you find one, it may be cheaper and easier to find another whole gun, and use it for the parts, especially if it's not a complete gun.

Have you checked ebay? I’ve seen some rare barrels on there but not cheap. I sold my 870 16ga with choke tubes not long ago, they bring crazy money for a 870. If it’s possible I’d add tubes to your barrel. Trulock has Remington 16ga tubes.

I have a 1954 Wingmaster 16 that had a full choke barrel, I sent the barrel to Amhurst Mass. and had it opened to .010 constriction. He would have put in tubes if I wanted and the price was reasonable I thought.
Mike Orlen is the man's name.

Yeah if you find one on Ebay, which you very well could, it will probably be $300+

I agree with the guy who said to look for another wingmaster in 16ga. I'd rather buy a wingmaster for $800-$1000 than pay $300-$400 for a barrel alone. I got lucky and found a used barrel in a barrel of used barrels at a gun shop. You might get lucky if you call around and ask or just pop into few different places.... but being 16ga, you'd be very lucky, but not impossible.

Holy moly, that's unbelievable!
A couple years ago I sold two 1100 standard 20ga barrels and one 870 standard 20ga barrel on eBay. I made enough money to pay for a real nice used Browning citori 12ga.
