Picked it up this afternoon. Nice looking gun. Matt stainless with black sights and controls-3 dot white sights. Nice looking wood grips with double diamond checkering and Ruger logo button. "Warning" stuff is on the bottom of the dust cover.

Barrel fit is tight on both ends as is slide/frame fit. NO rattle anywhere.

It was raining this pm but I took it out to shoot it anyway. I took it from the box, ran a patch down the barrel and added a couple of drops of oil to the rails. I put 25 rounds of 200 gr JHP and 100 rounds of 230 FMJ through it. Not a mislick of any kind.

Accuracy seems very good and shooting it is quite comfortable. Trigger is quite 'clean' and well within range of what it should be for a combat firearm. I'd guess around 5#-MAYBE a little less.

So far, I am well pleased with my latest 1911. (Yeah, I know, I'm addicted!)

Accuracy - compared to other 1911's? What was your target distance and how were your groupings?

Accuracy was really good-range was short. I don't have a REALLY good estimate of the accuracy yet as I was shooting in light rain, mist and fogged glasses! Very poor circumstances. I'll try to 'wring her out' for accuracy when conditions are better.

Main concern this time was to break it in and evaluate it for function.

I'm glad to hear Ruger did a good job with the 1911. The Remington was the other "newish" one that had my curiosity piqued. I was happy to see you let us know where the warning was because I had heard they kept the slide clean, but knew Ruger wouldn't let a gun out that didn't have the "don't be an idiot" message on it somewhere.

I know this is a tad off topic, but I have had 3 Colt 1911's and 1 Taurus. The Colts didn't do anything my Taurus won't. That fact, your review of the Ruger, and the success of the Rock Island Armory's have kinda led me to believe just about anybody can knock out a 1911 as long as they don't try changing the design (external extractor, ect.)

I also recently bought a CMD. I'm very happy with the pistol. The price was right for you get.
I've done a little work to mine, it's my EDC.
