Researching Old Family Muzzleloader ?

If this is the wrong place to post, I apologize.
I'm trying to research and identify this muzzleloader. It was my FIL's and no one in the family knows anything about it. The only information I have is that "Sterling" is etched/stamped on the side. There are some serial #s but I can't make them out. The gun is 46 1/4" from end to end. If there is another site that would be better to seek information pm me and I will ask there.
