I have just over 70 rounds of factory Hornady 154gr Interbonds and 30 or so gunsmith loaded 160 gr Accubonds all in 7mm Weatherby Magnum that I got for next to nothing from a guy who was going to rechamber. Problem being in little old New Zealand only about 6 people actually have a 7mm WM. To make any sort of profit I am dismantling the whole lot and selling as components but still have an issue of the brass.

Even with the shoulder differences it seems feasible to anneal and resize to 7mm Remington Magnum and trim to length but has anyone given it a crack?

I know lots of people do it the other way round and end up with slightly shorter than SAAMI case lengths and still use it but with quite a few 7mm RM here it seems worthwhile.

Any information would be appreciated.

if theres only 6 people in the country that own weatherbys id about bet theyd love to get ahold of your brass and would probably trade you even up for new 7 rem brass.

I've resized 7mm Rem to .270wby before. I used a couple grains (dont remember exactly) of red dot, paper towel and cream of wheat and paper towel packed on top again to Fireform with no projectile. The necks are short but it works. I still use my wby brass for big game hunting though since i have a bunch. The 7mmRem brass is mostly for plinking and light varmint loads and such.

I would think you could lube it up and run it through a FL 7mm RM die. You'll have to trim it of course, and probably need to turn the necks down too. Also check case volume afterward, cause I think they are thicker than 7 RM. I think it will work though, but personally, I would think it would be easier to find a taker for the Weatherby brass though.

At my local range a guy was turning 7mm Rem Mag brass in to 257 Wby brass. He said it was easy and you just annealed prior to resizing. He then blew out the case with a light charge of bullseye and moved on. It was all he shot.

I did not realize it could be done but he showed me the cases and they were all stamped 7mm Rem Mag but there was not question the case was a 257 Wby.

If the numbers all match up, I don't see why it would not work.

In reference to the 6 or so people I bet they would love to have it! But first I have to find them...out of 4 million people :)

Its all been listed numerous times on various sites but with no takers. I've since obtained a bullet puller and have taken the reloads apart. With the projectiles, N560 and brass I will at least make some money and just sell the brass as is for someone else to resize to whatever they want be it 257, 270 WM or whatever.

Thanks for the replies team.
