The AHI Bigfoot Climbing treestand model TS-08.

I purchased this one off of Sears website for 172.57. I unpacked the parts and started assembly. All parts were accounted for. Assembly of the upper unit was easy and quick. The lower unit was a whole different story. The directions are not clear and nearly impossible to understand when it comes to assembly of the Boot Straps and Backpack Straps. They have incorporated the 2 items into one, which was a little dissappointing after seeing the picture that has them seperate. After many hours of walking away and then coming back to re-read the directions trying to install the straps, I called a friend to come over and see if it was just me. It wasn't. After a 30 minute phone call to the manufacturer, it was finally together.

Climbing: This was a big challenge as the boot straps double as the backpack straps and do not hold tight to your boots. So, your boots continually try to pull out. Not a good thing at all.

Up to height and secured: The stand sits well. The seat was comfortable and the front rail was high enough to give you a good feeling of security.

Overall Opinion: I really like the size and weight of this stand. It sat very comfortably. The boot straps are a MAJOR problem. They do not hold well and you cannot control the lower platform well. If you do use them, make sure to have a strong recovery string tied between the 2 sections, and you WILL be needing it. Me?...I'm going to keep the stand, however I am going to have a set of custom bootstraps made for it.

Pro's; Metal construction and finish good. Seat is strong and comfortable. The weight is not too bad.

Con's; As mentioned, the boot strap setup. PLEASE watch these bootstraps,... not good at all. Product does not come with complimentary basic safety fall harness.
