Yesterday I received a new gun belt I had been anxiously awaiting. It is the Ultra Thin Dress Gun Belt from C. Rusty Sherrick: http://www.c-rusty.com/pages/other%20prod/Belts.html

I wear "office casual" or suits at least 5 days a week (lawyer:evil: ). I have high quality dress belts that cost $60-80 and have lasted a decade or more of daily use. These are the high quality belts you will find in Nordstom and other high-end stores. They are excellent quality and durable, but are not stiff enough to really support a holster rig.

I have another excellent double thick belt that I can wear with jeans or other casual clothes, but it is too thick and bulky to wear with a suit or "dress" clothes. A year ago (or more) I asked here on THR about a fine quality dress gun belt that is stiffened with an insert of some sort (like a high density plastic) rather than relying on being 1/4" layered cowhide with a heavy buckle to handle its bulk. I was led to Rusty Sherrick and was not led wrong.

His belts (and other gunleather) are made exclusively of horsehide. I already knew that horsehide was much "harder" and stiffer than cowhide, even in thinner material. This belt is exactly what I was looking for. I ordered it in cordovan, which is a deep dark, almost black, cherry color and will pass for black unless compared side to side with a black sample. The buckle looks just like that of my fine dress belts. I may need to order black and brown soon also.;)

This belt cost me $90 (plus $5 shipping) and is well worth it when compared to other high quality dress belts. I believe that his price is now $100 for this belt, but I would not hesitate to spend it again. It did take almost 6 months for delivery -- a little longer than I expected, but not more than many other custom gunleather sources.

If you need a big wide and thick work belt that will support your holster, you have many options and can find a suitable belt probably at a lower price than this one. But if you need it to look like a fine dress belt (in finish, stitching, width, and thickness), you need to talk to Rusty.:)

I puchased one of his holsters and fully agree with you. The work is excellent.
Takes longer to get what you want but in the end, well worth it. My purchase
was his "Extreme High Ride" holster and it really does hold tight to the body so as not to print.
