I can remember when I was around 18 your average SKS was going for around $150 bucks give or take. Nothing lasts forever, so I want to take the plunge on buying a Mosin-Nagant. (actually not really since since the rifle in ? is only $79.)
More specifically the rifle is a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 Hex receiver rifle, Standard Grade offered at J&G SALES;mosin-nagant-91-30
I am only looking to buy this rifle, well because at it's price its expendable and shoots a caliber which rivals the 30-06 in power. I figure at $79, it's a pretty good bang for the buck.
1. Anyone have experiences or reviews for this particular rifle bought from J&G SALES?
2. Is it a fair deal or should I look elsewhere?
3. Also what can I expect when buying a "STANDARD GRADE" rifle with no handpick available? I could care less about the cosmetic experience so long as it functions reliably.
4. I am also considering waiting until the next gun show to buy one. What is the realistic market price I should expect to buy one at a gun show?
This is a pic of the rifle from the J&G website & their comments below it.
These are historical 7.62x54R caliber WWII era military bolt action rifles, used by the armies of the USSR. They are standard grade guns, and have the older desirable Hexagon shaped receivers. Includes the Russian soldiers bayonet and possibly some other accessories. Arsenal refinished in very good to excellent condition. Hand select not available at this time.
I appreciate all the help & info yall can give me!!
