Revolver conversions - what's it cost?

As stated above, the cylinder conversion is the least expensive way to go, but you have to have a steel frame, not brass. I was going to say that it cost $300-$400, but apparently he has listed a source for even less. I'll have to look into that myself, as I've often thought of doing a cylinder conversion.

damoc,
Thanks for the info. Didn't think about any +P stuff. I've just fallen off the radar of commercial ammo. That's the prob. I guess when you re-load for 20 yrs. I still think all the "norm" .45 ammo is tame enough and I understand the cautious nature that the various makers have to have . I can't say that I blame them.

I was interested in a conversion cylinder for an 1858 Uberti/Pietta for the longest time.....

After much hemming and hawing (did I just say that?)....I just bought a Uberti 1858 Factory Conversion in 45LC

I paid $500 plus shipping to my FFL. He will charge me another 20 bucks.

So, for 520, I have a factory conversion, which I am told is made to different standards than a black powder pistol with an aftermarket conversion cylinder?

Pics and range report to follow soon.....

Very nice ! Let us know how it shoots !!! I just acquired a Remy sans cylinder for making it a conversion.
