Revolver for Home Defense?

Springs weaken through repeated compression and decompression. It doesn't weaken by the length of time it's compressed. You can pretty much leave a semi-auto magazine loaded for as long as you wish without any ill effects.

If that's true, is there no real advantage in exposed hammers on a side-by-side shotgun? I hear that configuration touted for HD, beyond "any old double shotgun".

I have seen something enigmatic and cool at the same time. It was late 90s S&W N-framed revolver in .44-40.

Sole means, by no means.

My single action Schofield replica sits in the safe by the bed with 5 Winchester silver tip 225 grain .45 colts and the hammer down on an empty chamber.

If the bark doesn't give the bad guy a heart attack, the bite will surely finish the job.

My Go-to is my M&P .40, but it's my daily CCW, and really just the one most conveniently at hand.

For your average person, a DA/SA revolver in .38 spl, or .357 mag will be more than enough Oomph, utterly reliable, and easy to manipulate for those with injured, or small hands.

My wife is finally tiring of her Sigma... but I think she's just in Lust with a Chiappa Rhino.

At least she's equally likely to go shoe shopping as Gun shopping.
