Revolver grips/weight balance

Just wanted to get the opinion of those of you who shoot medium sized revolvers regularly. I have a DW 14-1, which I'm told is very similar in size and weight to a S&W L-Frame. It has a 6" barrel.

My next project is to get it looking good. The factory grips (standard cowboy-esque grips that are narrow at the top and taper out to a wider base) don't really feel right in my hand - I can't quite get the right grip on them and the gun feels like it wants to fall forward when I hold it with one hand. I've been looking at Hogue grips and have narrowed it down to three types, and wanted to get some fellow shooters opinions on which may be a good bet.

My hands aren't huge, but I'm a big guy so I guess slightly larger than average. The Hogue rubber full-fingered 1911 grips feel good in my hand, and the finger spacing on those seems just right.

I've got a set of hogue monogrip with the one finger thing. Don't like em. I've got a set of Badger full finger wooden grip and fits just right.

Go to your next gun show and find a grip vendor and try em all out.

Grips are like clothes. You got to try them on. I have never developed an affinity for finger groove grips. Results may vary, however. My favorite set of grips are on a Smith 19. They are factory grips that have been modified by a previous owner. Ruined the value of the grips but they sure feel good in my hand.

I have Hogues full finger groove grips on my GP100 and they fit me perfectly and the gun handles wonderfully.

The K-frame revolvers I shoot (my dad's bull-barreled M10 and uncle's M13) have Hogue grips with finger grooves. They balance and point very well. The best thing about the Hogue grips is the palm swell that helps the grip fill out your hand and leave less room for movement when the gun recoils.

I hate finger grooves on semi-autos but on my hunting revolvers the Hogue soft rubber finger groove grips work great. Easy to control hotter rounds with out slippage that can happen with wood. I also hate wood combat grooved grips.

Of the links you posted I like the top grips without any grooves.

If the grooves aren't spaced correctly for your hand they are terrible. If they fit your hand they are great but most don't fit my hand correctly.

Yep, and Hogue's finger grooves don't fit me. Most don't, but the S&W "Combat Grips" do.

My DW has Hogue rubber with finger groves.

I've had at least 20 different grips for my DW guns over the years and only two of them have had any real staying power. I still have an unknown one with finger grooves, and a rubber one, I think it's a houge, but I might be wrong. I kept them in case I got a DW with a cracked grip (Some people go nuts tightening the grip screws for some crazy reason). So far, they sit in the drawer. On my two 15-2's, I have the stock "combat" grip on one of them, with the checkering sanded down a little, as heavy checkering, like the S&W "Cheese Graters" isn't fun, and the other is an unknown smooth walnut grip with grooves in it instead of checkering, like this one, but with grooves.

I bought it, badly cracked, at a gun show about 20 years ago. After I glued it back together, it's been my favorite grip of all. But as far as commonly available grips go, the one I like best after 30 years is this one:
