Dlon21, the grip in a '51 or '61 navy is the same as a 1873 Colt Single action army (the peacemaker).
The 1860 army has a slightly larger grip. It's all a matter of taste when choosing; I chose the '61 because I found it to be the most aesthetically attractive.
Had to replace the cylinder pin on my Pietta--the new one from Dixie is one solid billet. Gun shoots great. I've tuned the springs and stoned the hammer a little. The grips went to Mr Vu in Vietnam and never came back.
So I'll be making new ones out of antelope horn shortly.
