I wanna see some revolvers that have been used hard....

I like pictures of fancy new revolvers but I would much prefer to see some WELL WORN revolvers and the story behind their use.....

What have ya got?

All I have is the Smith 10-6 that has German proof marks on it - I have no idea the reason it has such markings, perhaps imported for police or military use.

How about this S&W 10-5 willed to me by an uncle, that has major blueing wear from the ins & outs of the holster. The right grip panel has seen its share of seatbelt and door bumping to the point it is almost smooth. He wore it on duty.

I'll have to take some pics of my S&W 28-2 Highway Patrolman. It's an ex-cop gun, but unfortunately it was used so hard it's gone out of time and needs to be repaired. When it was working OK it was a great shooter though, so it's on the list to be fixed.

What's cool is I actually tracked down the PD that issued the gun and got some info on the issue and use of that model from the current Chief of Police. He was just starting out with that department when that gun was standard issue and shared some stories.

How about my on-duty back-up gun and summertime off-duty gun?

N-Frame Ugly

Here's my well worn Model 28-2. I bought this a few months ago from a fellow THR member for either 200 or 220, I can't remember. It has quickly become my favorite revolver to shoot, as I don't feel that I need to "baby" it.

Colt Police Positive .32 Manufactured in 1910

this pistol and holster were used by a security agent to guard a Standard Oil plant in New Jersey during WWII. Unfortunately I don't know the rest of the history. Fire blue still on trigger and hammer. Bill

XB,
I have a few that I had bead blasted and dull finish like the early S&W you show.

Some will say it hurts resale. :what: How about practical application;)

I have a 1917 Colt that is well used and cut up, but no pics.

I sure have seen a lot of those, plus the colts of that era.

They are the ones most of the detective movies have in them along with the Detective special (colt). Movies had guys getting shot at 25 yds with them:what:

I know a man who missed with 5 rounds and hit with the 6th, why I never carried the 5 shot:uhoh:
