My 2 Revolvers

Just couldn't pass up an opportunity to show some fellow gun enthusiasts my revolvers. Although there are many like them, these are mine, and even though I own a few Glocks, a Mossberg 500 and maybe even a "military style assault weapon with high capacity ammunition magazine clip", my favorite gun in my collection is the one you see on top in this picture. (sorry for the substandard pic quality, I'm planning to get a better camera soon and will be taking all kinda pics).

Top: Ruger GP100, 357 magnum, 6" blued (Although I'd never wanna be in this predicament, I can honestly say that if I were in a gunfight with this 357 magnum and the other guy had a Glock 17 with a 33 round magazine I wouldn't feel undergunned. Very likely one shot would do the trick from this gun because of it's accuracy and the power of a 125 grain Hornady Critical Defense round. But for sensibility's sake, when I leave the house it is with my Glock 26. This GP100 is the "designated" home defense weapon and is always in "it's spot" accessible at a moment's notice). At this point (I'm no gun expert just fyi), I'd have to say that out of all revolvers I've shot, this one is the best (I shot a Smith 686 and a $1500 Colt Python the same day I got this gun, still sold on the Ruger and it's the least expensive).

Bottom: Smith and Wesson Model 36 - 38 Special (early production, good back up gun for what I paid for it, but looking to upgrade soon).

I want a snub nose I can at least shoot +P's in and Smith and Wesson told me very clearly (after I gave them the serial number), that this gun is not suitable for +P loads. It'll still do though, obviously the 38 Special didn't become known after +P's hit the scene. So if they worked for generations of cops before the introduction of +P ammo I'm sure it'll do just fine for me, for now anyway.

I must say that there are not many types of guns that I "don't like", but I'd have to say also that revolvers are by far my favorite. Hoping to attend (and maybe participate in), my first SASS event in the not so distant future.

My newest. Picked it up last weekend 649-2. Only 12 rds fired but appears to have been regularly carried. Ended up selling off the 442-2 for it.

Here is one you don't see every day. Security Industries 5 shot .357 with 2 1/2" barrel, factory finger grove grips, and recessed cylinder. Made from 1975-1977 size of a SB J frame. They were priced $60 MORE than S&W, even though Smith didn't have a J size .357 back then. Has 5 rounds through it in 38 years
I heard about them for 35 years and found this 2 weeks ago and ANOTHER with 2" barrel yesterday. :what: Built VERY well but hard to go up against S&W.

This is a Python Target finished in QPQ; I know many of you will say that it is a sin...............but it surely looks gorgeous in person!!!

I wish S&W would stop making the goofy guns and build this one "as-is" with the following updates:

1) Pinned front sight with factory night sight option
2) Chamfer the charge holes
3) Quality tuned trigger
4) Free ammo.
5) Boot grips without finger grooves like those Ahrends stocks.

Okay, not #4, but all the others.

I feel a little weak with my submission next to some of yours, but here goes...

2 New Vaqueros in .357, GP100 in .357, SS84L in .38, Service Six in .38, Classic Line Model 25 in .45ACP, Victory in .38, 442 in .38+P, Lawman MKIII in .357.
