Got myself the same one for xmas, serial number places it around '67/'68, perfect, carried but nearly never fired.
SW 28 love spreads around the world........
the graceful lines of the tapered barrels (with or without extractor shroud) make the older S&W revolvers look definitely sexy (at least to my eyes.......)
even a brute of a gun like a 4" S&W28 has a grace to it that the more modern lines (round barrel with continuous lug) will never be able to achieve.
Here's a pic of my "Q" series 22lr Colt Frontier Scout. One of the previous owners had the front sight and frame top milled and installed adjustable sights.
