I have read many posts and seen many pictures over the years of really nice revolver stocks posted on this board. I have decided that the next phase of my firearms collection is going to be the outfitting of my revolvers with some really nice stocks. I figure maybe a pair every paycheck.

So, the first gun I am going to do is a S&W Model 15 with a 2" barrel. I just happened to open the safe today, and this gun caught my eye. What do you guys recommend ?

If I get some good responses, I will try to keep the thread going as I move through the collection. I would appreciate your reasons for your particular choice.

I think they would be overkill on your snubby, but I dearly love the look and feel of Hogue's wooden grips. On your Smith a nice set of small rosewoods would look nice IMO.

Overkill ? Explain.

I have been out of revolvers for awhile. I am racking my brain to even remember the various sources of revolver stocks.

Houge, Herrett ?

I am a lot like you and change my grips frequently in my search for a perfect grip and an improved score.

Here is my latest: Nill on a S&W K frame square butt:

Here are altered Hogue Lamo Camos on a 65

I also like fingergrooved S&W combat grips.

Herret's on a model 19 are a practical and good looking choice:

The larger companies to check are Hogue which offers grips in various woods and configurations, Herretts, Badger, Eagle, Altamont, Nill-Griffe, Collins, Excaliber and Ahrends (S&W).

I happen to really like Kim Ahrends "Tactical Combat" square/round-to-square finger-groove grips on my long-barreled target revolvers:

For your 2" Model 15, however, I'd probably recommend going with a set of S&W Magna grips + Tyler T-grip. Something about the S&W Magnas + T-grip that says "working gun" to me:

I like Eagle Grips and Ahrends for replacements. I really like the smooth classic grips from Eagle, especially for a .44 magnum. I agree that magnas and a T grip are a great way to go. That is how my M66 that I carry every day is outfitted.
