What is the most of your Black Powder Revolver shooting done at?
Mine is primarilly done at Targets with a sprinkling of Plinking at Clay Pigeons.

I have some metal gongs that I like. Nice to hear the clang when you connect. Instant gratification.
 
The vast majority so far has been done at Evil Roy targets in cowboy action.

I want to get out and do some casualy quality paper time though to see where they are hitting so I can do better with the small bonus targets often used in CAS stages and to go for the longer precision shots in the Pistol class at the local club's BP shoots.
 
I've been shooting paper targets, but recently bought some steel rounds. Need to come up with an easily portable stand for them. Like jeepnik, love the sound of the hit.
 
Splatter targets stuck to scrap plywood. Or if the wife is shooting with me, I'll add some soda cans full of water because she likes the result when she hits one.
 
Been a while since I run a BP single-action. But when it was, it was plinking at paper targets. Dang, I miss the smell of the smoke. ;)
 
Mine is instinctive point and shoot without sighting at rocks, stray pop & beer cans. Surprising how good one can become at such with practice, practice and more practice.
 
I almost blow away a rabbit on my birthday when I went to the range. I grabbed my Remmy and the loaded cylinder from the trunk, as soon as I got it in my mom was complaining about how cute the rabbit was. And how she doesn't want my hunting around her. I saw probably 15 rabbits in 100 yards of driving, there is plenty of rabbits out there. All I wanted was one to cook for dinner that night, I wanted to make rabbit stew for my birthday dinner. But no... they are cute so I can't shoot one of the tens of thousands out there.

I like cans filled with water, or steel rimfire targets. I shoot those with .22s and my Remington, they hold up fine. I also like shooting paper, shoot n' see targets, bad guy targets, stuff like that. I also like soup cans, they roll if you hit them just right!

Been shooting C&Bs for over 35 years now.

I've shot a lot of paper, and killed my share soda cans.

I have shot rabbits on occasion. On a cold winter day with a light blanket of snow, you can walk up fairly close to them. I've also put a squirrel or two on the table.

Since the OP stated revolver use, mine have traveled countless miles on outdoors trips to the woods and have seen some limited use when I just felt like carrying one.

They were my first guns and there was a time when it was all I could afford to shoot. I guess if I had to choose only one handgun ~ I'd really have to look hard at modest selection of Colts C&B to pick from. Modern cartridge guns have their advantages, but they are not near as fun as their primitive counterparts.

I've killed a lot of paper as well as ventilating soup cans etc. but...for a challenge tangerines on top of stumps work nicely. Especially when you have a friend with a plastic Glock who thinks he's hot stuff. Maybe it's the smoke and boom that throws off his aim but it kinda makes you feel good when you can punch a piece of fruit off of a stump with one shot when the guy with the Glock just can't seem to find center mass on the helpless orb.

How about golf balls at 15 yards suspended from mono-filiment fishing line?
 
Mostly targets, with an occasional can. Recently, a friend turned me on to the fun of filling plastic beverage bottles with water, and shooting them. Lots of spray, and the bottles pretty much stay in one piece for easy cleanup.
I never shoot bottles or ceramic; it leaves a dangerous mess.
If I buy clay pigeons for targets, I get the all-black ones. The orange or yellow ones look terrible left on the landscape, and it takes a few years for them to break down into the soil. The black ones blend in while they break down.
I live in the remote desert, which many folks (mostly city slime) regard as a dumping ground. They'll bring out car batteries, bottles, old furniture, washing machines and all kinds of junk to shoot, then leave it.
I ever catch one of these jokers, I may add yet another biodegradable target to my list! :D
 
I've got a shooting tree, and thanks to sending my son to welding school, about 20 years ago, I've got the steel heart, spade, club,and diamond, all on a spinning steel bar. I definitely like the clang of the lead hitting the target, and I paint them black and red so I can tell where the rounds are hitting. Thank God I live in the desert, where we're free to shoot as we please.:)
 
The only range I can shoot the Holy Black at in my area allows only paper and no human silhouette targets. I don't get to it often as it's 60 miles one way to get to it.
 
Try old golf balls on the dirt. I've not yet tried them with my BP Pistol, but they are a heck of a lot of fun with a 22. When you hit them, they usually jump straight up into the air with a heck of a spin. I'll toss a dozen or so out on the ground, step back and have at 'er.

Finger's secret is out! He shoots 2% of the time at paper targets.

For those that don't shoot CAS, your missing a good time with good people.
 
I don't care for speed or dressing up like a cowboy, but I do love the guns! I'm a precision bullseye shooter.
 
Mostly paper targets but I also shoot some swinging metal plates I made. Sometimes I also make pebbles out of caliche rocks just to see something fly apart.
