If you want to lower the recoil get yourself an oversized EGW firing pin stop and put in a heavier mainspring. The hammer will be harder to cock but when the slide goes to move back the oversized firing pin stop will have trouble rolling over the hammer which now needs more force to re-cock , thus slowing the slide down and reducing recoil but without battering your frame.
Are you saying that a heavier recoil spring will make the frame and slide contact each other harder upon recoil?
