RIA 38 super as a base for 9mm 1911?

Quick question for you 1911 guys, is it worth it $$ wise to pick-up a RIA 38 super for ~$370, add a 9mm barrel + bushing, new sights and have two guns < $600?

the mags would be different since the super round is longer than the 9mm round.

i like the idea of a 9mm 1911, my RIA is a full sized .45acp but id gladly trade it for a commander sized 9mm.

as to worth it, id buy the .38super and leave it as such.

Why not leave it as a Super unless you are looking at ammo cost?

I like the .38 super better. It is more expensive to shoot but worth it. You might be able to do it with just a barrel change I'm not sure. My Tokarev 9mm conversion worked with just a barrel change and using the original 7.62x25 mags. The rounds slop around a little but feed fine.
