Thought this might be an easy way to effectively clean oil and rust off small sensitive gun parts, turned out to work pretty darned good! Let me know what you think, try it yourself and see how it works out for you.
I sincerely doubt the heat treat would be affected by boiling water temps. Generally steel won't lose its heat treat until much higher temps than the boiling point of water.
guys,just diassemble it and drop them in the utencil tray of your dishwasher.i use that on my glocks and my ruger old armys.drop some dishwasher stuff in the door dispenser and go.
By the time the bolt is that far apart it's simplicity itself to clean the parts with a bit of regular solvent or even one of the citrus degreasers. No need to boil the parts at all. Cosmoline isn't THAT hard to remove!
