All,
I waited as long as I could, as I really wanted this to work out for the best, but at this point I think it's only fair to let the community know about these stocks and the manufacturer. I ordered a wooden stock for my Savage MKII back in February. I waited and I waited. Finally on June 24th I get a call, my stock is ready, but the credit card was declined. No worries, I call them back the next day and they run the card, it works, and we're all set. A week and a half later, nothing. So I call them back. "Oops, we're sorry, it wasn't put in the shipping pile." That's okay, honest mistake. I call them back to get a tracking number a few days later and it still hasn't shipped. Oops again. So it finally arrives about a month after I paid for it. I accept that it was a hassle to get, but I did wind up with a quite good looking stock.
It's a 99% press-fit stock, but I know I'll need to do a little work. The next day, after a bit of sanding and a bit of gouging later, I realize that something is way off. It turns out the inletting was made about 3/8" too deep off of the barrel channel. Fantastic. So I email them with photos and a extremely detailed explanation. Wait a few days and of course, don't hear anything back. I give them a call (have I told you yet that you have about a 20% chance of them picking up when you call) and am told they have seen my email and will have UPS pick up my stock. Just pack it up and put it outside with a note, UPS will take care of it the next day. Well, I guess they got lazy because the next day the UPS driver had no idea what I was talking about. The day after that, they got UPS to pick it up.
So now they've got my stock and it seems like they'll do their best to make things right. I call after they have had it for a few days and am told that they haven't had a chance to look at it yet. Wait another few days, call again on a Thursday afternoon, and am told that the owner is gone, won't be back until Monday and they will call me back then. Well of course, on Monday, I have to call them. The owner hasn't looked at it and they'll get on it right away. I should expect a call in the next few hours. I told the guy on the phone, as politely as possible, they hadn't been great at getting back to me and he swore he would call back that afternoon. Nope. Tuesday. Nope. So I finally called them back today, Wednesday. I was put on hold for a while and told that it "fit" the model they had (it wasn't an actual gun though, not sure what the "model" was). I asked if she had seen my photos with an actual gun and she asked if I was the one who sent the CD? I said no, but asked if other people having problems, to which she admitted they were. "Supposedly" the owner is going to order a gun and deal with it. I asked for a time frame to which she replied that: she had no idea and there were "4 or so" other "projects" in the works.
I asked for a refund, to which they obliged.
When I was initially purchasing the stock I read mixed reviews online, but decided to give them a shot anyway. Well that was a terrible decision! I've wasted probably 10 hours of my time dealing with this and at the end of the day I'll I have is nothing. What a complete miserable and disorganized company.
I can strong recommend to The High Road community that no matter how appealing the prices or the stocks are, you should avoid this company like the plague!
