Thought I would start a new thread to alleviate some of the clutter from the original thread. Once again I would like to thank everyone that helped out along the way to this point.

Now this Upgrade to recap is for a KonusPro 275 3-9X40 mounted on my Savage Axis 223. The new scope is a Burris Fullfield E1 with the Ballistic Plex E1 reticle in a 4.5-14X42 Flavor.

Quickly had to open it up to investigate and look through it. I Love this reticle! Simple and clean. Doesn't fill the field of view with lines, dots and numbers. I so badly want to put this on right now but I am going to wait. At least until I finish shooting the 5 other workup loads I have sitting on the bench so I can compare them to the previous loads that these go with. Want to compare apples to apples.

Besides I think I am going to let one of the guys I work with mount it as he has much more experience than I do at this. I also believe he has a torque driver to torque the screws properly.

The Fullfield is one of the best scope values on the planet. Ive had several Phillipine Fullfields, but currently only have an older US production Fullfield 1 on my DMR build in a PEPR mount. There was no perceptable difference in optical quality, and, if anything, the Phillipine models had better finish and nicer turrets.

Also have an old Burris Black Diamond 32X. Helluva scope, that.

In case anyone is interested in seeing the scale, here's the Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 on an AR-10.

This gun now wears the E1 version which is very slightly more compact and about 3 oz. lighter, has side focus instead of the A/O, and identical optical performance IME. I like both of these scopes a lot, have used them on a few centerfire guns, and enjoy shooting with them. The 50-yard minimum focus distance keeps me from putting them on a .22 LR (for that application, the more compact Weaver Grand Slam 4-16x44 is a great choice when 16x magnification is enough, IMO).

What rings are those?
Those are very special, high-end tactical grade rings made by one of the leading Red Chinese names in the industry: NcSTAR ;) Part Number VR1H15.
Joking aside, I was looking around for rings or a mount that I liked that would give me the scope positioning I wanted. As you probably know, you can easily spend a hundred or two dollars on a relatively simple mount or rings. I hate buying Chinese stuff almost as bad as I hate paying silly high prices for stuff I don't need. I decided I'd give these a try for about $10 delivered to see if they were decent. Frankly, I see nothing wrong with them. The finish probably won't prove durable, and the aluminum probably isn't the highest grade, but I'm not expecting to drag my gun across the desert rocks behind a Humvee, so I think they'll be okay for me. :)
