I'm looking for rifle ranges within no more than say a hour drive from DFW with at least 100 yards and that allow fmj. I'm aware of Jacob's Plain Gun Club but haven't viisted there yet. If anyone knows about it let me know! What other ranges are there around me that i don't know about yet? Yall let me know! Thanks!

Elm fork won't cut it for the OP... taken from their web site: "Rifle Range Rules... 3. No full metal jacket or steel jacketed ammunition allowed."

I'm curious to hear of any options myself.

Elm Fork is nice i've stopped by and looked around before I plan on going out for some trap sometime. and 22 would be nice, but I'm just not going to pay the premium for soft point 223 ammo lol. Its hard enough to find decent priced 223 right now as it is. But Elm Fork does look like a great place to shoot! And i don't hold no fmj against them I'm sure its zoning stuff that prohibits them from allowing it.

Gibson's I was unaware of. I did some research and seems like a lot of people have problems with the owner's/operators service/attitude. Does anyone have any input there?

I'd forgotten about APG I looked at their site before and they seemed to have a lot of competitions going on during the weekends when is when i usually have the opportunity to shoot. Is the AGP range tied up a lot over the weekends?

Re:Gibson's

Yep, the old woman and the grandson can be a challenge to deal with. Frank is generally really good to deal with. JUST DON'T TRY TO JERK HIM AROUND. After such an event, life gets miserable.

They have 50, 100 and 200 yard rifle ranges. Shoot whatever ammo you like (including FMJ). Just be thoughtful and careful. When in doubt, ask them. Arguing is a BAD idea, it is their place not yours.

I get along fine with them.

Thanks for the info! From most things I'd read about Gibson's it seemed like people being over sensitive and not being used to being around people set in their ways lol

The owners of Gibsons are just a little "Crusty". I too have no problem in dealing with them.
The grandson? is WAY overdue for an attitude adjustment. Who needs the human equivalent of a mosquito buzzing around when you're trying to shoot?
I shoot on family property now.
