Just saw that TechBrute was heading down thisaway, and it got me wondering...who-all is in the DFW Metroplex (Texas) already?

If there's a bunch of us (and I'm betting that there are), why hasn't anybody had a get-together, yet?!? I'll wager we could fill a good-sized range for an afternoon!

So, who's 'round these parts?

No s**t?!? Me, too!! What range do you go to? Me and the buddy-unit usually hang at the CCGR, but we've also done Luna. Other than that...*blush*...I haven't had enough time to get to anything other than one time at the Bullet Trap, just after I moved up here.

We'll see how many folks pipe up, and who knows, maybe we can get a group discount or something...

If you guys are on the east side of Dallas and paying for range time then...you're nuts!

Go to Ammo Depot in Mesquite and talk to Mickey. Call first because his hours are irregular.
Anyway, he runs a 28 acre chunk of land on the trinity in Balsh Springs. It's a shooting paradise! We shoot trash floating down the river all day long
It's got the trinity bank and a gravel quarry as a backstop and it's very secluded and safe.
Most of the guys have full-auto stuff so they can't go to a regular range.
It costs about 150 bucks for a year of unlimited shooting. I saved a TON of money over a real shooting range.

Ammo Depot is just a really neat store too

Work is in Irving about 5 miles from DFW Gun on Mockingbird - that's where most of my money has been spent.

I work on West Northwest Hwy. directly across the street from the Sam's Wholesale Club which is just across the bridge from Elm Fork Shooting Range (formerly Winchester). Yep, we are right next door to the "Fine Arts Adult Video Mega-Store". Not the best neighborhood!

Just east of Mesquite--about 4 or 5 miles from the Lawson Road Gun Range. Kind of ironic since I've never shot there.

These days I do most of my shooting East of the metroplex since my company gun club (company is about 45 miles east of Dallas) has arrangements with a couple of ranges out in that area.

With enough advance notice I'll try to make a shoot/get together.
