I shoot an AR-15 built for target only off bench, 100-300 yds, set up with a
Krieger SS 1:9 26 inch barrel, VTAC FF handguards, with a Nikon 6.5-20 x44 scope.

The rifle shot sub MOA (.771 in!) @ 100 yds on the very first 5 rnds (BH 69g SMK HP red box) after the build.

I now need a good rest but would like to keep it at or under $200..

I have been looking at Wichita, Caldwell rock BR, Sinclair....

Any feedback?

TIA

I have Sinclairs original rest (with the cast base) and it's awesome. Be warned though, it's a heavyweight. My rest has the windage adjustable top end and it's really easy to make adjustments.

Also, Sinclair likes to sell accessories. Micrometer adjustable rear leg, front bag, rear bag, bag sand, etc. To really make it purr, you need all that stuff so figure it in to the price.

They also just came out with a lightweight version. That's probably the one you're looking at. I have yet to see one around, although I plan on purchasing one next year just for the fun of it.

I will tell ya this...when it comes to Sinclair, I've never been let down. From targets, to bore guides, to custom tools, to rests....they always work better than I anticipate.

Of course, all this depends on the shape of your handguards. If they're round you might want to look into a Dog Gone Good bag or something without a firm front bag.
