Well, I am looking for a new rifle. And here is what is in the running:
SIG556. I like it. However, I am skeptical since it is not chrome lined barrel, but lined with something else, which I do not even know what it is. Can someone advice what SIG556 barrel is lined with and what that lining does to a barrel life?
ACR/MASADA. Suspicious of it. Magpul has no history in gun design. The gun sounds too good to be true, the price keeps climbing up and it keeps getting delayed. While I doubt that democrates will step on the same rake again with AWB, I can't rule it out.
V93. Vector arms clone of HK33. I hear nothing but good about it. However, the barrel is pressed in and magazines are not cheap.
AR181. Armalite WILL come out with a new version of AR180b. I have no details on it, but I talked with several people from the management there, and they assured me that they will try to get it out before the end of the year. I have AR180b and like it. Only wish for a heavier barrel. If that happens, we have a winner.
Arsenal AK in 223 or Saiga 223. Both rifles have the same accuracy. I wonder should I just pick it up and be done with that.
