Rifle Shopping?????
The other day I went to Bass Pro shop in Springfield, MO as I live about 45 min away to look at rifles. I was tired of ready about them and living in an online dream about them. I just wanted to lay my hands on them and fell the weight of each and shoulder them and work the bolt a few times. I have been researching rifles and gathering opinions for the last few weeks in anticipation of my new purchase.
I looked rifles from $450 to $675. I looked at the Browning Xbolt, the Ruger Haweye, the Remington CDL, XHR and SPS, the Thompson Venture, the Tikka T3, and the Sako A7 rifle.
While this is solely my opinion I really liked the Sako A7 30.06 rifle. It was at the top of the price range but I just like the way it shouldered and the smoothness of the bolt. While both the Thompson Venture and Tikka T3 were also great, I just thought the Sako A7 was it in my mind. Has anyone shot this rifle it is guaranteed to shoot a 5 shot MOA?
I would like to hear anything positive or negative about the Sako A7 30.06 rifle. Although it is at the very top of my price range it is the one that I was drawn to regardless of price. I picked out a new Zeiss Conquest 3x9 by 40mm scope to put the icing on the cake. I also looked at scopes for awhile. I looked at the Leupold, Nikon Monarch, and the Zeiss. To me I like the Zeiss best. So I would also like to know anything positive or negative about Zeiss scopes.
I felt like a kid in a candy store and I am hoping to make this purchase soon but I have to wait a few more weeks and save up a few more dollars but this is what impressed me the most. I don’t think I will ever take my old Remington 710 rifle (bolt sticks closed constantly) with the cheap basic model Nikon scope (several years old and not fog or water proof) to the woods ever again.
